There are certain types of education system in the world that emphasize more on reading and gathering knowledge. Children are taught to remember facts and figures, but sadly not creative thinking. This type of education serves to develop only the memory and that is all; when the time comes to use the knowledge gained for some useful purpose, many would be lost.
Sometimes the knowledge itself can be a hindrance for the student to progress further!
For example, if the student is told that "Nothing travels faster than light!", he would just accept it blindly. He would not even entertain the idea that, "If it is true than how are we going to explore and reach the other side of this universe that spans billions of light years?".
Now, a creative mind would go further into such thoughts, and continually challenges itself to learn more and continue to improve.
However, when this idea is suggested to the memory type of student, he would just call it absurd and ridicule the student who asked the question. Although the memory student may be right at that moment, but he has unwittingly stunted himself from exploring further. This is where knowledge becomes a hindrance for a person in improving himself, and the world in general.
Creative ideas do not arise from the physical or emotional or even the intellectual body, but it comes from the spiritual body which is the source of infinite ideas!
Slowly, a child's intellectual body, emotional body and physical body are programmed with all sorts of stuff as the child grows up. Good stuff, bad stuff, fuzzy stuff, and so on. The child who is a grown up now views the world with a totally different perception than it actually is.
When a child is born, it is like a white florescent light. But, as time goes on, it is wrapped in different colored plastic wrappers. Eventually when it is covered with many of these colored wrappers, the light won’t shine forth anymore.
It would now be enveloped in darkness also known as ignorance. This is where the person losses touch with his spirit. Thus, the will power diminish, the person becomes directionless and starts flowing with the rest of the crowd.
People refuse to change for the better because they are simply ignorant of the fact that they are connected to this awesome and infinite power called the spiritual body! They are simply not aware! They may have read about it or have been told of it, but they have no inkling at all of what it is because most people have corrupted physical, emotional and intellectual bodies that cloud the spiritual body.
In the physical body, they subject it to abuse; for example no proper diet, excessive drinking (alcohol), smoking and so on. In the emotional body, feelings like sadness, sorrow, disappointment, jealousy, anger, will conquer it. In the intellectual body, the false assumption of already possessing all the knowledge will be there, and the thought of knowing better than everybody else further cloud the spiritual body.
If a person have been living his habit patterns for 20, 30 or 40 years; to expect a motivation training program to turn them around in a day or two is almost impossible.
Why I say "almost" impossible is because I have seen a few people who changed immediately and the changes lasted. However, most would go back to their old ways in a very short time!

Whatever The Mind Can Conceive And Believe, It Can Achieve
“Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve!”, said Napolean Hill, whom is considered by many as the father of motivation and awareness in America in the 1900s. The above powerful caption is embedded firmly in my heart; I strongly believe in the caption as I have experienced it many times over throughout my life.
Yesterday, the above statement came to my mind again. It all started with a particular personal coaching session on 25th February 2007, then the first gathering of the above talented group on 27th February 2007, and a rehearsal on the 5th March 2007. Amazing, isn’t it? In just two weeks, they managed to organize, work together and conduct this fairly complicated preview. Kudos to you guys! I am truly proud of all of you!
Prior to this, there were doubts among the team members; whether anyone would attend the preview, whether they were prepared to handle a large group, whether their power point presentation would be ready, whether the attending crowd would be impressed by their presentation, and so on.
As I listened to their concerns, I smiled as it brought back memories of me, back in the days when I first started conducting my seminars. I remember having sleepless nights before any important presentation; the constant worries whether I had prepared accordingly, whether my audience would like my presentation, etc.
One of the team members asked, “How do you manage to look so confident that we will be able to pull it off?”. I answered, “…just like a farmer who has planted the seeds, and then watch them grow into trees producing fruits”. He blinked, expecting an explanation. I said that any farmer worth his salt knows that preparations prior to planting the seed, planting the seed and taking care of it during its growth in the early stages are the most important stages in the growth of the plant. What is meant by taking care here is weeding, fertilizing and of course watering.
Similarly, most of the team members have gone through a long process of preparation; learning and applying Nature’s Laws truthfully, setting goals (planting seed) and now slowly heading towards achieving the goals. They constantly focus on the goals, always check and correct their negative thoughts (for example doubts) into positive thoughts and associate themselves with positive-minded people. This is likened to clearing the weeds in the ground where the seed is growing, and then fertilizing, followed by watering.
As such, since I know that each one of the team members has been rehearsing, of course I am confident that they will be able to carry it through. He nodded gesturing that he understood.
Just as I had anticipated, the whole presentation went well. However, the team had other problems to worry about on that day, the ‘pleasant’ kind that one would not mind having! Due to the unexpected large crowd, they needed more chairs and they were also short handed when they were bombarded with too many enquiries from the crowd.
Later, I reminded the team not to get too excited as they have just begun and they have yet to achieve their goals. The presentation was just their first step towards achieving greater goals in their lives.
Always remember Napolean Hill’s powerful caption, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve!”.
