Whatever The Mind Can Conceive And Believe, It Can Achieve

“Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve!”, said Napolean Hill, whom is considered by many as the father of motivation and awareness in America in the 1900s. The above powerful caption is embedded firmly in my heart; I strongly believe in the caption as I have experienced it many times over throughout my life.

Yesterday, the above statement came to my mind again. It all started with a particular personal coaching session on 25th February 2007, then the first gathering of the above talented group on 27th February 2007, and a rehearsal on the 5th March 2007. Amazing, isn’t it? In just two weeks, they managed to organize, work together and conduct this fairly complicated preview. Kudos to you guys! I am truly proud of all of you!

Prior to this, there were doubts among the team members; whether anyone would attend the preview, whether they were prepared to handle a large group, whether their power point presentation would be ready, whether the attending crowd would be impressed by their presentation, and so on.

As I listened to their concerns, I smiled as it brought back memories of me, back in the days when I first started conducting my seminars. I remember having sleepless nights before any important presentation; the constant worries whether I had prepared accordingly, whether my audience would like my presentation, etc.

One of the team members asked, “How do you manage to look so confident that we will be able to pull it off?”. I answered, “…just like a farmer who has planted the seeds, and then watch them grow into trees producing fruits”. He blinked, expecting an explanation. I said that any farmer worth his salt knows that preparations prior to planting the seed, planting the seed and taking care of it during its growth in the early stages are the most important stages in the growth of the plant. What is meant by taking care here is weeding, fertilizing and of course watering.

Similarly, most of the team members have gone through a long process of preparation; learning and applying Nature’s Laws truthfully, setting goals (planting seed) and now slowly heading towards achieving the goals. They constantly focus on the goals, always check and correct their negative thoughts (for example doubts) into positive thoughts and associate themselves with positive-minded people. This is likened to clearing the weeds in the ground where the seed is growing, and then fertilizing, followed by watering.

As such, since I know that each one of the team members has been rehearsing, of course I am confident that they will be able to carry it through. He nodded gesturing that he understood.

Just as I had anticipated, the whole presentation went well. However, the team had other problems to worry about on that day, the ‘pleasant’ kind that one would not mind having! Due to the unexpected large crowd, they needed more chairs and they were also short handed when they were bombarded with too many enquiries from the crowd.

Later, I reminded the team not to get too excited as they have just begun and they have yet to achieve their goals. The presentation was just their first step towards achieving greater goals in their lives.

Always remember Napolean Hill’s powerful caption, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve!”.
